VICTORIAN EMBOSSED AND BRANDED BOTTLES

Aqua and clear glass bottles, embossed with manufacturers’ names for medical remedies, ointments and solutions, were mostly produced and used, between the 1850s to 1880s, then desposed of.

Today, most will have been dug-up from secret victorian dump sites and made their way back into use as decorative pieces. These interesting, victorian antiques are affordable and highly collectable. Dress them up or down, with mini candles and moss, or a few wild flowers. They work well grouped together on a back lit shelf; but their real charm lies in their embossed descriptions; ‘Fragrant Sozondont' - for the teeth and breath’; ‘Lung Tonic’… and ‘Horehound Emulsion’
