old GALVANISED WIRE laundry BASKET
We have several handmade vintage galvanised wire baskets in stock; each one unique. They have a lovely chalky finish to them and were once used inside old laundry buckets to assist with giving your linen a good soak. Back in the day, this was part ‘n parcels of your laundry regime and having an inner wire basket, meant you could pull your laundry up and out of your bucket to drain off without having to lunge into the bucket to retrieve your washing. Today these wire baskets can be repurposed in a variety of useful ways. As a waste-paper bin. A magazine holder or roll-up some hand-towels and use it as an informal towel basket, not to mention that at Christmas it can be repurposed as a Christmas tree base, lined with moss.
